PiBUS - A Raspberry Pi-BMW Interface Board

BMW, Landrover and Mini vehicles from approximately 1998 to 2006 were fitted with an infotainment system powered by IBUS. This system typically had a 6.5 inch monitor, radio, amplifier, TV module and satellite navigation. However, it lacks the ability to play MP3s, videos and other modern media.

PIBUS solves this problem by allowing you to connect a Raspberry Pi computer. This tiny computer costs only US $35 and allows playing of MP3, FLAC, videos and other files from USB memory sticks. PIBUS is a little circuit board and bridges the gap between the car's infotainment system and Raspberry Pi.

The latest version of the PiBUS board (V4 HiFi) also contains a high quality sound-chip. You'll love the way it sounds.

The video below demonstrates the result!
